King Charles III should have a full-blown coronation, according to business leader, philanthropist and founder of Phones 4U John Caudwell, speaking to Piers Morgan on Piers Morgan Uncensored on Talk TV.
Caudwell, who counts His Majesty amongst his friends through his charitable work and environmentalism as the former Prince of Wales, said that, though he understood sensitivities during a cost of living crisis, the coronation, now set for 6 May 2023, should not skimp on pomp and pageantry.
“We should just go for it,” said Caudwell. “It creates a lot of revenue for Britain and it shows the world that we can celebrate in spite of difficult circumstances.”
Caudwell, who has just marked his 70th birthday with the publication of his autobiography, also commented on other topics in the news including the Government’s ongoing economic turmoil, the Ukraine war and the need to save energy. He was joined by Talk TV political editor Kate McCann and journalist Jenny Kleeman.
"All the wrong things were done right at the start of the pandemic."
