Thanks to John’s success in business, he counts himself lucky that he is in the unique position to support the projects and causes that he is most passionate about.
John gives significantly to and raises the profiles of causes that struggle to receive the attention, funding and assistance they so desperately need. He has founded, and covers operational and administrative costs of, Caudwell Children, Caudwell Youth and Caudwell LymeCo, devoting his time, money, and energy to ensure the charities improve the lives of as many people as possible.
John has also supported a wide variety of other causes, such as the creation of the Bomber Command Memorial, dedicated to the 55,573 Bomber Command crew who lost their lives in the Second World War, as well as the Elton John Aids Foundation and the Prince’s Trust.
Caudwell Children
Caudwell Children transforms the lives of disabled children across the UK. They act as a safety net for families who are unable to gain the help they need.
Caudwell Youth
Caudwell Youth provides support that changes the lives of at-risk young people aged 11-24 years through mentoring by trained volunteers for up to 2 years.
Caudwell LymeCo
This UK charity raises money for research into Lyme Disease, with the vision that every sufferer can be accurately diagnosed and treated.
The Life-Changers Circle
The Life-Changers Circle, established in 2020, is John Caudwell’s network of like-minded philanthropists who have committed to donating at least £1 million each to transforming children’s lives. Membership is by invitation only.
Giving Pledge
As a signatory to the Giving Pledge, John Caudwell is committed to giving away at least 70 percent of his wealth to charitable causes. He sits alongside Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Elon Musk, Michael Bloomberg and more than 200 of the world's wealthiest individuals who are using their wealth to solve intractable problems.
