LBC: ‘Her husband is on the front line, they don’t know what’s going to happen’

Following an exclusive interview with The Sunday Times, John Caudwell talked to Andrew Castle on LBC about his experience providing a home for a refugee Ukrainian mother and her young son at his country estate in Staffordshire.

“Her husband is on the front line, they don’t really know what’s going to happen to them,” John explained. “For the moment, the most important thing is that the mother and son are safe and being looked after.”

But there are “enormous” challenges ahead trying to “find a way through this maze to get her legitimate status in the UK”. Caudwell has pushed for the Government to do more to waive visa requirements and do more to reduce red tape for Ukrainian refugees as part of the Homes for Ukraine scheme.
