Times Radio: We need a Prime Minister ‘with a strong moral compass’

With the partygate scandal continuing in Westminster and pressure mounting on Boris Johnson, John Caudwell, a major donor to the Conservative Party at the 2019 General Election, joined Mariella Frostrup on Times Radio to discuss the Prime Minister’s position.

The conversation followed Johnson’s former aide Dominic Cummings making fresh allegations about what the PM knew about the Downing Street drinks party on 20 May 2020.

How damaging is all of this to Boris Johnson’s credibility? If he is guilty, it’s morally wrong. If he’s not guilty, he’s not in control.

“It doesn’t look great either way from my perspective,” said John. “I certainly don’t want to damn our Prime Minister,” John also said but “we do need a leader with a strong moral compass and ethics.”
